Analysis of the Characteristics of Atmospheric NH3 Concentration in Akedala
Abstract: By carrying out the on-line continuous observation of atmospheric NH3 in Akedala regional at-mospheric background station, and implementing the strict quality control during the observation, we obtained the annual and diurnal characteristics of NH3 concentration. The results showed that: the NH3 concentration is low in cold season (November-April); while the NH3 concentration is high in warm season (May-October). The maximum value is 198.66 ppb on August 10th. The minimum value is 0.19 ppb on April 20th, which is similar with the character of seasonal variation. The NH3 concentration in the day is higher than that at night. The NH3 concentration is affected significantly by local emissions (i.e. agriculture and soil emission). The correlation between NH3 and other primary pollutants is low in Akedala. It means that their sources are different. The monthly average concentration of NH3 was significantly higher than that of other primary pollutants.
