Research and Application of Luohan Ping Reservoir Heavy Rains and Flooding Coefficient
Abstract: In order to improve the calculation accuracy of flood in water conservancy and hydropower projects, especially in the case of a known rainstorm magnitude, the results are used to solve the flood water level forecast of small and medium-size reservoirs. A case study of Luohanping reservoir is conducted in this paper with a stormwater coefficient analysis. Based on the study of precipitation and runoff depth curve, effects of rainfall and precipitation intensity on rainstorm flood coefficient in different prior periods are investigated. Under the condition of same precipitation magnitude, the more rainfall and stronger inten-sity in the earlier period, the larger rainstorm flood coefficient is; otherwise smaller. It is of great practical value in using this analysis method to address problems that small and medium-size reservoirs are confronted with in predicting future reservoir water level under the condition of a known rainfall, and dealing with the intense contradiction between flood prevention and reservoir storage, which is worth-while to promote its application in forecasting water level of small and medium-size reservoirs.
