The Study on the Mechanism of Electrode Wear and Power in Positive EDM Process
Abstract: In this paper, the work power was modeled and its related parameters were analyzed based on the field emission theory. The contrast experiments of single-hole EDM with different electrode materials as copper and A3 # steel were designed. The experimental results show that the main reason for electrode loss mainly was the fracture of organization combination key caused by incident electronic sputtering energy; and the processing efficiency of copper electrode is faster than A3 # steel electrode, because interelectrode discharge energy of copper electrode is more. The experimental phenomena and results verify the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed model.
