Preparation and Magnetic Property of Magnetic Cobalt Particles by Solvothermal Method
Magnetic cobalt was synthesized by solvothermal method. The effects of reaction time, temperature and surfactant on the morphology and magnetic properties of final products were studied. Cobalt acetate, ethylene glycol, and surfactant were employed as the starting materials. The spherical Co particles were obtained at high temperature and pressure conditions. The microstructures, shapes, size, and magnetic properties of as-prepared samples were investigated in details by XRD, SEM, and VSM techniques. The results showed that the magnetic Co particles were hollow spheres structures and enhanced saturation magnetization and coercivity. The high magnetic cobalt could be applied in magnetic recording and catalysis fields.
